More blood spilled, another mass murder done; Viral Renegade stood almost proudly looking out over his work. The small town was up in flames, the streets blood stained, and it's rag tag group of soldiers all but dead.
He tapped the broken pole he used to kill them in his palm like a baseball bat. There was one left, still alive. The man was laying awkwardly, half on his side. His eyes were squinted, and one was bleeding out. His legs twitched, and he groaned in pain as the pool of blood he lay in grew wider. The man took a raspy breath and coughed out blood. Viral Renegade looked down at him and chuckled, "Why don't you just die?" he asked. The man didn't answer. He probably couldn't. His arm was outstretched toward his pistol; Viral Renegade noticed. The virus knelt down and lifted the gun into his hand. He pointed it to the man's forehead. "Stop fighting," he said, then fired. He dropped the gun and watched the blood trickle out from the man's forehead. He twitched slightly, and his arms shook. Even he didn't know why he started laughing. It's not that he found it funny; he didn't even enjoy it. He felt a little knot in his throat, coughed, and started laughing. He only laughed for a few seconds before he screamed in frustration and dropped to his knees. Then he cried. "Why am I doing this?!" he asked himself, "I'm not LIKE them!" "I KNOW better!" "I can't CHANGE what happened!!" "WHY AM I TRYING?!" "...it's different when it's someone you care about that's lost, isn't it?" Viral Renegade looked up. Viro was hovering in front of him, looking lonely. "...what?" "You're a living being, Viral Renegade," the little virus said, "Just like humans, you have emotions, and no amount of power is gonna overcome them." "I'm nothing like the humans." "YOU of all people should know that everything has to come to an end someday," said Viro, "Right? You know taking revenge on these people won't change anything. Why do you do it?" Viral Renegade let the pole drop to the ground and roll away, "Shut up," he said under his breath. He shook his head, "SHUT UP!! YOU DIDN'T--" "Viral Renegade! Get off the ground!" Viro broke in, "We're going home." Viral Renegade shut his eyes and shook again. He got to his feet and walked off with his companion. Just a little story that popped up one night~ I really like this pic. Just about everything about it. I'm glad to be improving on blood a little, and also my style of drawing VR. I know the binary code is gone, but I've decided to leave that out from now on because it takes too long and doesn't really add much to the character anyways. This probably my best pic to date. I don't care if it looks wonky or out of place. I like it. :b EDIT: Viro's not there because he wasn't around until he actually said something. The ground can be improved on. Lens flare; love it or hate it. Critique on something else. CommentsVery deep, very interesting. O:

It's a terrific combination of original art.
Utterly fantastic and a total pleasure to the eye. The flower was a nice touch, too. VR's body is terrifically done, totally magnificent. The story was incredibly atmospheric, I could almost hear VR in my head. It's a really nice perspective on your character and it fits nicely with this picture. The blood is also great, it's something you've improved alot on.
Okay, for whatever bad I can give:
- The lens flare looks like it wasn't nessecary but we both know how fun lens flare is.
- The sky looks great but the ground a little bland. Perhaps a house the right behind the hill thing would be a great touch.
- Viro being in the story but not in the picture. I saw what you said about him looking out of place, which is fair enough.
also i love vr aaaa
